Kenora Mega Bass Event

2018 Event Details

The Manitoba Bass Anglers will be hosting the Kenora Mega Bass event on Lake of the Woods on August 25 & 26, 2018. The event is comprised of two separate one day tournaments including the “MBA Lake of the Woods Bass Championship,” a conventional two-person team tournament to be held on Saturday, August 25, and an individual “Big Bass Battle” tournament to be held on Sunday August 26. Each tournament is a separate and has no bearing on the other. Participants can chose to enter one or both tournaments. Both tournaments are limited to MBA members and MBA Tournament Trail entrants.

The MBA Lake of the Woods Bass Championship is structured the same as last year’s (2017) Kenora Crush, just with a new name. Its format is a two person team, single day, total weight live release tournament. Both Largemouth and Smallmouth are eligible for weigh-in.

The Big Bass Battle also has the same format as the prior year’s event, where individuals fish against each other and bring in their biggest bass to weigh-in each hour to accumulate points towards qualifying for the final MBA event of the season, the Tournament of Champions.

Both tournaments are tentatively hosted at the Winnipeg Sport and Leisure (WSL) and Tall Pines Marina docks off of Hwy #17 (in Cameron Bay).  And although there have been no significant changes in rules, regulations, prizes and payout structures for either tournament from the prior year, it is imperative all competitors review and understand all rules and regulations prior to submitting an entry form (attached below).
